Random PHP question…

I just got a new lappy (hooray!).  Firefox 3 is installed on it.  On my main page, the right sidebar is coming up on the bottom, under all the other content.   This doesn’t happen on any other page, just the front page.

This doesn’t happen in FF2, or IE.  It also doesn’t happen on my bf’s lappy, which is also running FF3.

Anybody know the solution to this issue?

  1. …and with Murphy’s Law, as soon as I post about it, it fixes itself. WTF?

  2. Hm. Bad Add-on/Plugin?

  3. I hear posting about it on your fairly well-known blog is the number 2 suggestion by IT folk right after, “Did you restart your computer?”

  4. Seriously. Gotta love technology. :)

  5. Yeah. Because it was bad for me, too. And now it isn’t. Weird.

  6. Also, it probably was more of a CSS issue than a PHP issue. Just thought I’d, y’know. Tell you that. <3

  7. Meh, I always get my acronyms mixed up. I’m a writer, not a web designer. :)

  8. Very true, Eric.

Though it would still require someone who knows how to read php to find the issue. Scanning through a php template to find a css error when you don’t understand the php is a pain in the ass.

  9. I have Firefox 2, and it’s been doing that for me since your last two posts.

  10. Seriously? grrrr…

  11. BTW, I just found browsershots.org, it’s pretty cool for seeing how the site looks in different browsers. It seems to be working fine in FF and IE and Safari… hmmmf. I’m being shot by Men with Pens this weekend, I’d better look GOOD!! :)

  12. Maybe it had to do with the size of the pictures used in the posts? As like you, it hasn’t done it to me for this one or the children one.

  13. It’s weird, Mystrich.

First it was FF3 not working.

    Then you said FF2.

Then I tested it for e on FF3, FF2, IE7, and Safari, and all worked…

    What the hell?

  14. I blame gnomes. They’re monsters now, after all.

  15. Cool invisible monsters, too.
