@ Kameron – Mielka’s young. Really young. So while she may have a sense of something being wrong, she’s not sure enough of herself to really do much about it.

I'm a little surprised that Mielka didn't have a stronger reaction to Helion's actions, especially his slaughter of the first orcs who's surrendered the group accepted. It's situations like these where I miss the old 9-point alignment axis. I found it a great tool as a DM for creating moral dilemmas with teeth: participate (actively or passively) in an action that goes against your alignment and you'll find yourself penalized both socially and mechanically.
