@allanonmage - Nowhere does it say that being goofy or funny is a bad thing. The "goofy" pics above, though, are generally crude humour. And unfortunately, most girls don't find crudeness funny or sexy. But by all means, be goofy! Do you have a picture of yourself hanging upside down from the monkeybars at the local playground? @e I too challenge you! A great majority of profiles of women say that they want to be entertained and made to laugh. Would not showing the goofy side of yourself prove that you can do such a thing? Or is this a case of the writers not really knowing what they want?

@ Forte – Challenge away! I agree, there are times when a group shot is cool, BUT… what are the chances that the person asked everyone in the picture if it was okay if they were up on match.com? It’s one thing to be on Facebook, because generally only your mutual friends see the picture, but dating sites are different. Also, MOST of the “with a girl” pics involve the two snuggled up together for some reason.

E, I challenge your advice! Well… sort of.

Are photos of men with women really a bad thing? I might have to disagree with you, as long as it’s tasteful.

Obviously the “ladies man” thing isn’t going to look good but I think one tasteful picture of you with a mixed group of friends can give reassurance. If we see someone smiling with a bunch of other happy people they’re going to seem like a fun person with a good group of friends, even if we only think this on a subconcious level. If some of these friends are women then isn’t that more reassuring?

But I agree that a woman pressed up against either side of you will put off some girls.

This is hilarious and its so true.

Even though some guy maybe totally cute and a great catch. A bad photo of him looking crap or doing something strange totally puts you off.

The thing with online dating is that you are really judgmental of photos and the ways in which people write profile. Because that is the only basis that you have …
