Um...yeah...both my ex-wife (from another life-time ago), and my wife of 18 years were my assistant managers. I got fired both times by the managers, but hung on to the women. Well, the second one, anyway :-)

I think as long as you're professional and don't get caught snogging in the back room, (or copy room, conference room, etc.) you can have your cake and get a paycheck there, too.

Dead Orcs´s last blog post..What the Hell We Supposed ta Do, Ya' Mo-dron!?

Allow me to rephrase.

I speak from multiple personal experiences when I say that when/if the breakup occurs, it pretty much fractures the game group, often beyond repair.

Your opinions are your own, and that's fine. All I know is that I'd want to have a ring on my finger before I introduced my SO to my gaming group.

@ Palette - I dated my EverQuest Guildmaster for several years and let's just say he went out of his way to prove he WASN'T favoring me, so I always got the last of the loot. ;p

@ messerole - True, true... except in cities where your gaming group is the ONLY gaming group in town. ;-) Then what do you do?

I would disagree. An RPG is a social group for having fun. Dating people is part of fun. I would chance losing my RPG group for a girl; a job is quite different, that's bread and butter and sheer survival.

Besides, if your friends can't stand you dating, then...they probably wouldn't be able to stand it in whatever situation.

On a possibly related note, don't ever date someone in your RPG group, for pretty much the same reasons.

Doubleplus Never date a player if you're a Game Master. Just... don't. That falls under the "supervisor" category.
