Female Roleplaying Gamers Book Survey Update #1

Girl Gamers!StupidRanger and Geek’s Dream Girl are joining forces to write the ultimate guidebook to female roleplaying gamers around the world.

As of 1/15/09, we have 96 females and 156 males that have completed the survey!

There are gamers from all over the world responding, with an especially high percentage of French-speaking folks – Merci, Hybban!  France, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Germany, Canada, New Zealand… we have geeks from around the world!

(Don’t apologize if English isn’t your first language – we all speak RPG and love having the global perspective!)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This book will celebrate all the ways girls contribute to the gaming culture and we’d love to have you be a part of it.

  3. Don says:

I’d fill out the survey, but since none of my players have been able to convince our wives to game I don’t have much to contribute. One question, though — who’s publishing your book?

  4. e says:

    @ Darius – Thanks!

@ Don – At the moment, we’re working on the research. We’re waiting on the publishers to start fighting over it. ;) (AKA “Nobody yet, but we’re working on that!”)

  5. Don says:

e – I’m a professional book editor. While my company wouldn’t be right for the book (we publish textbooks, not trade books), I’d love to help you through the labyrinth that is book publishing. You have my email address if you’re interested in talking about it.

@ Don – Thank you so much!! :)

  7. Sandrinnad says:

Is there somewhere on the survey that I can indicate I _don’t_ want to see my name in print? (not to be a spoilsport or anything! I love the idea of the book and would be happy to take the survey, I just don’t want my name out there :) )

  8. Sandrinnad says:

dang! missed the edit! meant to add – for really no other reason than I’m odd that way. I’m not ashamed of being a gamer or anything like that :)

  9. e says:

@ Sandrinnad – Just put “Sandrinnad Sandrinnad” as your name. I’ll remember just to use you for stats, not for direct quotes :)

  10. Sandrinnad says:

sweetness! thank-you! *toddles off to survey* :D

  11. Janna says:

@ e: I just sent in the survey. This sounds like an AWESOME project, and one that’s long overdue. Best wishes! :)

@ Janna – I was waiting for you! I knew you’d get around to it eventually. Being Yax’s minion is a lot of work, I’m sure! ;-)
