A lot of people using dating sites are the older ones who either did that and it didn’t work for them, or they can’t do it. So now they want to shop for a date like the shop for a washing machine. Online, with specifications, and “click here to compare these models”.

On OKC, there is a link somewhere in the drop down menus to “Fun Stuff”. This includes two experiments where folks involved in the site 1) Pay two people to get fat, 2) wear plastic bags on their feet for a month to see how bad athletes foot can get.

I have not met one person on Match.com in person, and I live in NYC. I’ve had many successful dates with OKC. I think the case is closed here.

It’s an interesting interview, but he doesn’t really say much to persuade people (ok, me) back to OKC – his main points seem to be “We’re free”, “We have geeks” and “We’re prettier then Plentyoffish”.
I still don’t agree that the social networking aspects are the best thing in online dating, but I suppose it can help you weed out folks.

You should have asked him how the experiments that he and the other OKC guys did with fattening up skinny people and seeing how much they could abuse their feet improved their dating.
