e’s Quick Fix: Transferring A Match.com Account

So, your buddy has a match.com account with 3 months left on it and he’s met the girl of his dreams.

If you’re really lucky, maybe it’s YOU that met the girl and your buddy who is lacking in love.

Either way, you want your money’s worth, right?  Why waste a perfectly good pre-paid subscription!?

Here’s how to transfer to a new love-seeker:

Transferring A Match.com Account To A New User

  1. Log into the account.
  2. Click Account in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Click Sign-up Information.
  4. You’ll see this box:
  5. Change the information to whatever the new user wants.  As you can see, you can even change accounts from men to women, straight to gay, whatever you want.

Ta-da!  Enjoy those pre-paid months!

will the people my friend has been emailing see that the account has changed? will my pic be in their email inbox on her old messages?

  2. e says:

@Jenn – I’m double-checking this with my contacts at Match, but I believe that yes, the new information would appear in the mailboxes of people your friend had emailed while she used the account.

HOWEVER… all mail on the site expires after 30 days. So if your friend’s acct has been inactive for a month, the emails she sent will disappear from match.com like they never happened and the account will be clean for you to use with a new name. :-)

Thanks. Please let me know. I don’t want to use her account if people she emailed will see me.
