There’s been a lot of chatter on the web about Dr. Manhattan’s full frontal nudity in Watchmen.
There’s a lot of it.
Wang everywhere.
Swinging in the breeze.
Glowing, blue wang, even.
What do you think about it?
Is it about time we saw more male nudity in movies? Seen one wang, seen ‘em all? Did you giggle when you first saw it pop up on the big screen?

I swear, I didn’t even notice after awhile! Aside from the (male) tittering in the audience, of course.
Where’s the “bi” option(s)? Where’s the “I’m a straight guy but I support more wang in movies ‘cos I hate double standards?” option?
…okay, I picked “it didn’t bother me.” But that’s only ‘cos it was the closest thing you had to what I actually thought.
Couldn’t care less. There were more important things to wathc in the movie.
Well, it wasn’t any more wang than what Harvey Keitel seemed to want to swing around in just about every movie he made in the early 90′s.
That said, the actor has nothing to be ashamed of. I guess if you got it, flaunt it. Can’t hardly say anything else, since we seem to expect the same from women.
Could I have gone without it? Sure. But I guess you gotta stay faithful to the novel, and the novel came complete with wang.

Is there a double standard? Sure. But not where most people seem to be drawing the line.
Penis isn’t even comparable to breasts. The counterpart to penis is vagina. But the public sees that as far worse than wang, which they see as far worse than breasts.
So I suppose it’s more of a triple standard. But I doubt we’ll see much vagina in (non-X-rated) movies any time soon.
And I have no idea why that’s somehow worse than wang.

Like I said in IMs, I really don’t get it either. Naked people are 1) funny and 2) natural. Sometimes, 3) hot. I don’t know why Americans are so uptight.
