Uhura was fantastic, but she also had the most noticeable unnecessary-exposition line (à la Legolas in Return of the King) in the movie.

@ Michelle - I was frustrated that they didn't explore Data's emotions after Generations (or, if you want to be generous, after he switched the emotion chip off during First Contact). It was like he forgot how to turn it back on again.

@ Michelle - I think Kirk would be of a fling than a date. ;-)

I *loved* the new "Star Trek" movie, and I only became a fan of the original series about 3-4 months ago. They did a fantastic job in making the film, and I must agree, I would date every guy on that crew. (Yes, even Kirk!)

I hope they either get another TV show started, or make another movie (both with the same cast). I would love to see them develop the friendship between Kirk and Spock and Bones that made for some great, hilarious, and occasionally heartwrenching moments in the original series.

@Dice_Girl - Data is my favorite character from TNG. I was a very angry person at the end of "Nemesis."

It is nice to find other people that appreciate how sexy the guys of Star Trek where. I am a big fan of Spock and Data myself, which is usually not something I am quick to admit to. (Mostly because my fangirl moments result in a lot of teasing from friends and co-workers).

And if I wasn't already taken, I would totally date anyone of them (except Captain Kirk, he really didn't do anything for me).

I have to applaud the skillful use of geeky protagonists. Too often when geeks are used in films they are stereotypical losers or stoner hackers. These characters all felt very real but still nerdy.

I have to agree. It could have been titled "J.J. Abram's Geeks in Space" and been totally accurate. And I still would have seen it!
