Do you want to win a free copy of the DMG2?
As a fairly new DM, I’m excited about the DMG2. At the moment, I am planning out an Eberron campaign that I’ll eventually get around to running. The DMG2 is a candy store full of awesome ideas and things I definitely want to steal and use as part of my campaign.
I’m also excited about D&D Game Day this Saturday! DaveTheGame and I are going to play at a FLGS and then (hopefully) play again at home with more friends that night! And arrrrr, perhaps talk like a pirate too.
There are tons of great reviews about the DMG2 out there, so how’s about I do the contest part and I let you read the previews and reviews some of my good friends have written?

Enter The #famousDM Contest
Unlike ChattyDM’s #aboutmyPC contest, I only have one prize to give away, so entering (and winning) will be easier on all of us!
Here’s the question…
What famous character (book, TV, movies, etc.)
would you like to have as a DM and why?
Answer that question via Twitter and tag it #famousDM.
For example:
Stewie Griffin would be the ultimate sadistic DM. After all, DMing is world domination, right? “Victory is mine!” Poor PCs. #famousDM
Be sure you tag it #famousDM, otherwise I won’t see it to enter you into the contest.
To Win
To be eligible your entry must:
- Be posted to Twitter before Friday, September 25th at 11:59 pm EST.
- Be tagged #famousDM.
- Give the name of a famous character and a reason why you’d like to see them as your DM.
You can enter as often as you like, but if your reasons start to get lame like “…cuz it would be fun” or “…because I’d want to see what he’d do” then I have the right to exclude that entry because you’re a lazy bum.
All eligible entries will be tossed in the Hat of Randomness (aka an Excel spreadsheet), and the Hand of Randomness (aka random.org) will draw the number of the winner, which will be announced on Monday, September 28.
Good luck and let the fictitious DMs roll!!

is contest open to canada?

@ Mike – Yep. I’ll ship this one anywhere.
Do I need to be a follower of you on Twitter? Cuz I’m having a little trouble finding you.
@Jack – I’m @geeksdreamgirl and J is @jdreamgeek. There are twitter buttons in the sidebar —> click ‘em and you’ll go straight to our Twitter pages. You don’t have to follow to win, but we’re pretty fun gals to follow.
Yeah sorry. I found the button after I posted!!!
I just have to say E, this is the most fun contest I think I have seen in quite some time. All the answers are so much fun. ^_^
Alright, since I’m not showing up on search, and you said I could (thanks again, by the way), here are some of my entries. I’ll try to make sure that if I get any more, I’ll wait and bundle them up again so you don’t end up with a whole bunch of comments from me.
The Skinjob Cylons – Because they have a plan. #famousDM
Steve Jobs would always have “one more thing” up his sleeve. #famousDM
Sherlock Holmes would be a cool #famousDM, except there would be a whole bunch of clues at the end you had no way of seeing.
Dave from 2001 would be too much of a railroad DM – “OPEN THE POD DOORS, HAL!” #famousDM
