I Want To Have Dungeon Bastard’s Babies

Dungeon Bastard

(Sorry, Dave.) I love Dungeon Bastard. His videos are well-written, impeccably done, and downright hilarious. If you don't subscribe to his channel on YouTube, go do that now. His newest "Ask The Bastard" is on Edition Wars and he echoes my feelings on the subject: "Does it have dragons? Does it have dungeons? I want to play it!" … [Read more...]

Top 5 Worst “Super” Jobs in Anime

worst super anime job

As we discussed two weeks ago, jobs in anime tend to suck. But there are worse things to be than a teacher or idol singer or salaryman. When reality gets chucked out the window, watch out… there are some occupations or roles that guarantee misery of the sci-fi or supernatural kind. Here are the worst non-RL things to be in anime! As always, take with a grain of salt; there are always exceptions to every rule! 5. Robot Okay, it’s not a job, and okay, it’s not an anime-only thing, but … [Read more...]

The Ultimate Geeky Card Game: Dvorak

dvorak

If you like trading card games or even regular card games and you have a creative flair or a lot of weird ideas, you'll love this card game. In fact, I'm going as far as to say it's the “ultimate” geeky card game! Dvorak is a “blank card game” that you create yourself. Sure, Magic: the Gathering has plenty of built-in rules and tournaments, it's undeniably fun, and you can spend thousands of dollars on booster packs... but these TCGs aren't the only option for card gamers. (There are … [Read more...]

e: They Say It’s Your Birthday…

gdgbd

It's just past midnight on June 22, and that means it's time for my annual sneak to wish e a very happy birthday!  It's also another chance to display my lack of artistic abilities once more, as exemplified in e's Birthday Paint Extravaganza.  And to think, I actually want to take up real painting.  On canvas. e's been having a rough few months, health-wise, but even as she's been battling one ailment after another she's been determined to make Geek's Dream Girl the best it can be.  She's … [Read more...]

Wish @jdreamgeek A Happy Birthday!

It's the birthday of a very special person - my assistant dreamgirl, J! J's been instrumental in growing Geek's Dream Girl to the site it has become today. I can't imagine this place without her. After working together for nearly a year, we finally met face-to-face a couple months ago and she is just as awesome in person as she is online. Please leave a comment to wish J a very happy birthday.  Send her a happy birthday tweet too! Once you're done with that, go check out some of the … [Read more...]

The fine folks over at KnockKnock.biz have some nifty and funny products that would make great stocking stuffers this holiday season! My favorite items are the notepads for all situations.  I own the ALL OUT OF Pad where you check off food and household supplies during the week so you're not doing the shopping list dance five minutes before going out the door to the supermarket. But the coolest thing are the awesome products for folks in relationships. Here are a few of my favorites for … [Read more...]

D&D At The Library: The Adventure of Little Rogue

DaveTheGame and I attended a D&D event at the Westminster Public Library on Saturday afternoon and had a blast teaching 4e to new (and returning) players. The wife of one of Dave's players is a librarian and she set up the D&D event at the library.  If it went well, there were plans to continue it on a monthly basis. Dave and I were recruited to help, either with DMing if there were enough for multiple tables or just helping newbies during the game.  (I was secretly hoping I … [Read more...]
