The first shot has been fired, and it's come from Fox.  No, I'm not talking about politics; I'm talking about the end-of-season cancellations.  Just because a show has made it past its first - or third, or fifth - season and been renewed in the past doesn't mean its guaranteed another, but a freshman show is certainly most in danger of being cancelled.  Last in, first out, as they say. Alcatraz: Rock-Solid Start

Monday night, Fox debuted the latest offering from J.J. Abrams, Alcatraz.  Yes, it's a show about a mysterious island with a potential paranormal connection and Jorge Garcia, har har har (can you imagine how many times these actors have probably heard that by now? Pulling the Plug on Cable TV

In general, I probably watch too much TV.  Maybe not compared to some - I suppose there are shows on roughly three nights a week that I watch - but the TV is often just... on, in the background, tempting me with Family Feud and tryouts for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.  And while that might not change in the immediate future, I've just taken my first step into a much larger world: I've gotten rid of my cable TV. LOST Finale: End of an Era

It's been a few days, and I think I'm finally ready to write about the series finale of LOST.   Remember, I only saw LOST for the first time a few months ago – and then I devoured the show whole. Netflix Instant: Feeding My TV Addiction

I feel like I've been watching a ton of TV lately.  Here's the thing, though: even taking into account the final episodes of LOST and the new Doctor Who series, a very small fraction of the TV I've been watching has actually been sent to my cable box.  The rest has been thanks to Netflix Instant. LOST: Worth the Hype

Until recently, I had never watched LOST.  This wasn't due to any particular snobbery on my part: I was in college when the series began, and it was next to impossible to keep up with any live TV at the time.  And as the seasons wore on, it seemed impossible that I would ever be able to catch up, and everyone agreed: this is NOT a show into which you can jump in the middle.
